OUR HISTORY AND FOUNDATION

Established in 1982 by David W. Pickard Jr., AIA, PE (1933 - 2013), Pickard Architects is a California-based architecture and engineering firm. We have completed more than 1,900 projects over the last 38 years. In addition to our traditional architecture and engineering services, Pickard Architects provides construction management, project management, and entitlement services.

Providing award-winning architectural and engineering services for public and private clients, our firm has developed an extensive design portfolio in both the public and private sectors. Our work includes both new projects, remodeling, freestanding, and interior/tenant improvement.

Pickard Architects' resume of projects is quite diverse, as we have never focused solely on any single project or client type. Rather, Pickard has developed a very broad and diverse project and client resume. Representative examples of our work can be found on our portfolio page on this website.

Our firm prides ourselves in our attention to detail and is committed to employing a team approach throughout each project. Individual contributions are encouraged as they enhance the exploration and resolution of the issues at hand.

It is our practice to re-evaluate our client's functional program, project values, and financial criteria periodically as the design team continues through the design process. "Up-front" conceptual engineering of systems and architecture, along with the order of magnitude cost estimates provides an opportunity for early evaluation of alternative systems and design approaches.
